Residents of Lawford are concerned by proposals for an estate of 110 new houses near the site of an important prehistoric site.
- Exhibition of pottery, flint and bone discovered during the excavations of this Neolithic monument (SM List Entry 1002157).
- Walks to the site with interpretation of how it was laid out and constructed.
- A short talk by Patrick Taylor, author of Timber Circles in the East.
- Free admission and refreshments.
Organised by Philip Cunningham of Manningtree Museum and Local History Group, and Caroline Hill, with curators from the Colchester and Ipswich Museum Resource Centre bringing a selection of the objects excavated from the Lawford Tye Neolithic Monument in 1962-3 and in 1971.
